When it comes to your senior pictures, you know you’re going to have fab hair and makeup and a killer wardrobe… but what about your nails? They might not seem like much but you definitely don’t want to overlook them, and here’s why: when I photograph you, I will use your hands as a prop. Whaaat? That’s right! Bringing your hands and arms into the frame for those close-up shots will add interest to your picture and elevate the look of your image to fashion magazine status. See what I mean?

That’s why I emphasize nails so much to my seniors, and why I’ve put together this easy guide to ensure you *nail* your look from head to toe… Bahaha I crack myself up!

1. Go nude

For your polish that is! Nude nails are essential for two reasons: they go with anything, and they won’t distract from your pretty face when we frame it with your hands.

Here are some of my favorite OPI nude colors to inspire you!

2. Add an accent nail

If plain nude nails are a little too boring for you, add a little interest with a glittery accent. Golds and rose golds are always a good choice.

3. Ombre french manicures are a trendy twist on a classic look. Just steer clear of the BRIGHT white and choose a lighter shade of (you guessed it) nude instead.

4. Glam it up

Dress up your nude base with a glittery ombre accent.

5. Nail art

If none of these options satisfy your creative urges, go ahead and shake things up with some nail art, just make sure you’re still using a nude base! You can apply a simple, clean nail art look to all nails, or choose a single nail for a busier accent.
