Media Day Pose Ideas for Senior Athletes | Fort Wayne Sports Photographer

Whether you’re planning a banner for the gym, a feature in the yearbook, or just want to capture the energy of your senior season, media day photos should feel bold, fun, and totally you. As a Fort Wayne sports photographer, I love helping athletes show off their personality, team spirit, and unique style with creative poses and custom setups.

Here are some of our favorite media day pose ideas to inspire your own session—from individual portraits to creative group shots.

  1. Classic Power Pose

The go-to for a reason: stand tall, game face on, jersey front and center. This shot works for every sport and makes a strong impact on senior banners and posters.

2. Action Shot

Jump, spike, toss, tumble—we’ll capture the movement mid-air to freeze your athleticism in action. These are fan favorites for both banners and social posts.

Prop Ideas: Mini basketball hoop, pom poms, softball bat, fog machine

3. Personality Pose

You’re not just an athlete—you’re a whole vibe. Whether you’re blowing a bubblegum bubble, rocking shades, or tossing up a peace sign, this is your chance to let loose and have fun.

Great with: Crown props, glitter, sunglasses, custom signs, or varsity jackets

4. Group Poses

Grab your besties or your whole senior squad and let’s create something memorable together. From pyramid stunts to dramatic huddles or team cheers, these group poses bring the energy.

Popular at: Leo High School, Homestead, Carroll, Snider, and Empowered Volleyball

5. The Silhouette Shot

Looking for something bold and dramatic? Silhouette-style portraits are a striking way to capture your shape, stance, and sport in a clean, graphic form—perfect for custom senior banners. We use backlighting and intentional posing to create a powerful outline that stands out on any gym wall or field fence.
