My Top Fort Wayne Senior Portrait Locations

Fort Wayne senior portrait locations guide

This guide is meant to serve as inspiration when choosing locations for your senior pictures. These are some of my favorite Fort Wayne senior portrait locations that you haven’t seen overused, to help inspire ideas for your senior portrait day!

Downtown Setting

Downtown Fort Wayne has tons of options for urban style settings. I love to use the sidewalks and streets, reflective windows, alleyways and murals, and parking garage rooftops to give us a wide variety of locations all within a short walking distance. If your outfits and style lean toward the urban or sophisticated look, this is a great location choice!

Parks and Gardens

Fort Wayne has so many beautiful parks with manicured garden areas, which give a backdrop of amazing textures and vibrant colors. Some of my favorite spots are Lakeside Rose Garden, Foster Park, and Headwaters Park. You can pair these locations with outfits that are fun and flirty or even more formal for a unique twist on senior portraits.

Shops and Bookstores

Coffee shops, bookstores, and record shops often have a great aesthetic that makes for interesting and unique photos. My local favorites are Debrand’s Chocolates, Hyde brother’s bookstore, and wooden nickel records. These locations can give cozy vibes, fun and carefree, or vintage retro, depending on which one you choose and how you style your wardrobe!

Apple Orchard or Greenhouse

Something about perfect lines of trees and plants just makes me so happy! The apple orchard is so gorgeous, especially in the late summer when the apples are ripe. And the greenhouse is great for a burst of color in a unique location. These are both outside-the-box locations if you’re looking for something different.

My studio- 4 ways…

My absolute favorite location is the BBP studio, and I’ll tell you why! It’s so versatile and offers so many options for your senior portraits. I’m going to show you 4 ways to use it!

1. Gorgeous golden hour photos on private acreage- over 4 acres of private land that I have meticulously scouted for the best lighting, and cultivated the best natural textures in those spots. I’ve let the grass grow tall in just the right areas, sprinkled wildflower seeds, pruned the trees and created the perfect portrait spots for a natural, organic setting.

2. Lifestyle photos in my natural light studio- want something more casual and laid back? We can create a neutral lifestyle set in the studio that’s perfect for showcasing your jeans and sneakers look.

3. Sportrait session  with the black out background. If you’re an athlete and you want to showcase your sport in a dynamic way, we can set up the lights in the studio to capture all the action.

4. Creative lighting in the studio- want something more artistic or editorial? We can use studio lights, colorful gels, even the projector to create senior pictures like NO ONE else has!

The right location is just as important as the right outfits when it comes to senior portraits! Hopefully this guide has inspired you to think outside the box with some unique locations and ideas for your session so you can design a concept completely your own!

When K. Monique Studio and I connected about doing an artistic session for their company dancers, I was immediately excited. I love creating sessions that go beyond traditional picture day portraits and really showcase what dancers are capable of.
