Summer Themed Mini Sessions in Fort Wayne
We are in the throes of moving and it is hard. We’ve been in our new house for about a month and the sea of boxes is slowly starting to diminish. With two small children underfoot (and constantly hungry it seems) it’s been difficult to feel very productive when it comes to getting our home put together, but we’re getting there.
Last week I decided we needed a little break. A creative outlet for me and something fun for them.
So I threw together some ideas for themed mini session sessions using the props that I had been able to find and unpack and bribed the kids with ice cream cones to get them to stay planted in one spot for a few minutes :).
We have some really pretty wild flowers (*ahem* weeds) growing around the perimeter of our yard… and maybe in some of my flower beds. Anyway I knew I wanted to incorporate them somehow other than just plopping a blanket down in front of them. I really like the whimsical look of the picked flowers in the jars.
I love using props that aren’t just props- I pulled the mason jars out of the pantry, the bear is a favorite stuffed animal, the wagon was in the garage and the quilt is our favorite picnic blanket. It literally took me longer to drag all this stuff to the edge of the yard and set up than it did to snap these pictures of my kids. And good thing too because these cones were melting faster than they could eat them!
