Lifestyle Family Photography | Fort Wayne

My family and I have not lived in Fort Wayne very long. We were driving around one Sunday evening doing what we always do, looking at potential houses and deciding where we wanted to buy. In addition to looking for houses our other favorite hobby has become discovering new locations for shoots. I love scouting out locations that aren’t often used by other family photographers, little hidden gems that nobody else pays attention to. I was looking for some blooming trees since they had just started to blossom and I really wanted to get some pictures of my girls in their Easter dresses.

We found this school with some flowering trees out front and a pretty field off to the side. It looked like a pretty good spot since the sun was setting in the right place so we hopped out and proceeded to chase my children around in a vain attempt to get a decent shot of one of them. But once we started to explore the area a little more, I realized what an awesome location we had come upon. There was an entire wetland area behind the school, and not only that, the sun set behind it! It was perfect and I knew I had to schedule my upcoming family session there.

This sweet family was such a joy to photograph. Little E was such a ham and loved picking dandelion bouquets for his mama, and sweet little L was such a doll. I loved capturing her cuddling with her mama on a blanket and being held in her daddy’s arms. E was exuding boyish charm the entire session. He has such a cute little grin and loved doing tricks for my camera. My favorite was sneaking in a few of just Jeff and Amy together <3 I always ask our clients when was the last time they had pictures of just the two of them, they almost always answer “at our wedding”. It’s such an honor to capture the love they’ve built together as a family!
