Carroll High School Senior Pictures | Madelyn 2018
A few weeks ago I wrote about how much FUN we had at Madelyn’s session and shared some highlights including her video slideshow. If you missed it, you can check it out here. Now I wanted to share some of her (and my!) favorite images from her session and talk a little about some of the fun locations we chose and why!
When Madelyn and I met for her Fashion Consultation I asked her about any ideas she had in mind for her session. My goal is always to design senior sessions from scratch and push really hard to make each one original and unique. Madelyn said she wanted a mix of a natural setting and a more urban location for her gallery. She also wanted to incorporate one of her and her friends’ favorite fast food spots: Fort Wayne’s Original Coney Island! I was in LOOOOVE with the idea of a hotdog stand BFF shoot <3.
For her natural locations, we started at a nature preserve in Fort Wayne where (after a little hiking) we came to a gorgeous stream. We did some fun shots in the stream and Madelyn was a trooper fighting off the mosquitos, so we made sure to move quickly! After that we went to a local orchard. The lines of green apple trees and tall grass made a gorgeous backdrop, and the blues and greys in Madelyn’s outfit for this location perfectly complimented the greens in our surroundings!
After that we made our way downtown where Madelyn completely rocked. out. the steps at Headwater’s Park. I love shooting on steps because they’re so versatile for posing. You can literally get a million different looks at the same spot.
For our next location we cut loose a little! Unfortunately at this point in the session it had started to rain. We thought we could wait it out but the radar didn’t look promising. So what did these 3 BFF’s do? They made eating hotdogs in the rain look like it was meant to be! Seriously, the neon “coney island” sign and the street lights in the background looked even better in the drizzle. And the hotdog chowing was the comic relief needed to pull this off flawlessly.
Just before sunset we headed up to a rooftop parking garage for some incredible model work by Madelyn. And to finish things off, we were rewarded for sticking out a rainy session with a gorgeous rainbow right over the city! Perfection- just like this senior!
Don’t forget, I’m now booking dates for SPRING 2018! If you haven’t found a senior photographer yet, you’re gonna want to check out the magazine and see what makes BBP so different than the rest!
